Lambda Alpha is a national honors society. The University of Pittsburgh’s chapter focuses on academic excellence as well as undergraduate research. Undergraduate research is a really important (and often daunting) aspect to an anthropology major’s degree. It will allow you to become a very competitive applicant for graduate schools and give you a good idea as to what a future in anthropology may look like. Lambda Alpha is here to help. Many of our meetings cover topics related to starting, funding, or in general aiding in your undergraduate research. Other topics may include things like how to get into field school, how to get the most out of your conference experience, how to apply to graduate programs, and other topics related to anthropology supplemental to the education you are receiving at the University of Pittsburgh.

If you’re interested in becoming a member, check out our Requirements page.

We hope you utilize all of the connections Lambda Alpha has with other departments within the University of Pittsburgh to aid in your research, graduate school applications, and other interests you may have related to anthropology.
